The Owner of Musical Spectrum

Cheryl Sangster

As long as she can remember, Cheryl has been a lover of music.  Beginning to play the piano by ear at the age of 5, , Cheryl's parents supported her natural ability to play by providing formal lessons on piano and voice, from age 8, and throughout her high school years by two phenomenal teachers, Mrs. Betty Saunders, and Mrs. Muriel J. Gilbert, who instructed her in theory, composition, and application, as well as performance etiquette.

Cheryl performed at recitals during her years in elementary school in Detroit, MI, playing piano, cello, and violin, and began playing for the children's church choir at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit, MI, under the leader of the late Pastor Samuel L. Whitney. Under the mentoring of her late Pastor Robert A. Hill, founder of Christian Love Fellowship Ministries International in Ypsilanti, MI. Cheryl developed her gift for worship ministry, and became equipped at setting the atmosphere for an excellent worship experience. Throughout her life, Cheryl has worked with many nationally known pastors, recording artists, and ministries throughout Metro Detroit, and has written scores of praise and worship songs for choirs, praise teams, and ensembles, and has been in several bands throughout her lifetime. In addition to piano, Cheryl has a gift to learn to play any instrument she purposes to, but cites the Hammond B3, C3, Motif keys, and alto saxophone, as some of her favorites, with a noted passion for the stringed instruments and percussion. Cheryl has served as a Music Minister, Worship Leader, and Elder for several decades

Because of her love for God, and her love for worship, Cheryl has desired over the years to teach the principles of true worship, and how the Word of God clearly gives us instruction and example for invoking the supernatural presence and glory of God in our worship services. She teaches Bible based lessons and conducts Bible based studies surrounding worship to churches, in workshops, and small cell groups.

Although her love for music spans a wide variety of genres and styles, she is also a devoted fan of smooth jazz.
